How do YUFA and the Employer resolve day-to-day issues?

0

There’s a Joint Committee on the Administration of the Agreement (JCOAA), with representation from the Employer and YUFA. JCOAA implements and administers Collective Agreements, once ratified. Recent JCOAA topics include: the cost of course buy-outs; on-line teaching evaluations; expenses eligible for Professional Expense Reimbursements; and interpretation of clauses, such as the clause on notice of non-renewal / renewal for Contractually Limited Appointments. JCOAA has several issue-specific subcommittees, including ones on long-range planning, benefits, and tenure and promotion. For the past two years, the Joint Subcommittee on Long Range Planning has met monthly with JCOAA to deal with the many ongoing issues arising as a result of the Arts / Atkinson merger. Also reporting to JCOAA is the Joint Affirmative Action Committee.
