MLA research papers can be overwhelming to write if students do not understand the requirements. Here is a simple guide to writing MLA research papers that can make the writing process easier. MLA research papers should be printed on standard 81/2 by 11 inch paper. The final draft should be typed, and free of any editing marks. Set all margins to one inch, and indent paragraphs one half of an inch. MLA research papers that include set-off quotations should indent the quotations one inch from the left margin. All MLA research papers should be double spaced. This requirement includes any quotations within the paper, and extends to the works cited.
