How Do You Write An Effective Thesis?
There it is again, that annoying word: Thesis. Every teacher seems to use it, but what exactly does it mean, and how can you be sure to write a good one? FORGET EVERYTHING YOU’VE EVER LEARNED ABOUT WRITING THESES – There are as many ways to write theses as there are thesis writers. Writing teachers have always, and will always, disagree about the nitty-gritty. Your best bet is to ask your teacher what he or she wants precisely; still, there are few general guidelines that most experts agree upon. START BY ASKING A QUESTION – Come up with a research question related to your topic. Let’s say, for instance, you’ve been asked to write about chefs in popular culture. Jot down some questions you’re genuinely interested in answering. For instance: -How has the role of chefs in popular culture changed in recent years? -What kind of experience or credentials does a person have to have before she can call herself “Chef”?
