Proposals for projects and freelance work are the bread and butter of the industry. So how do you write and create one that will win you the job? Whether you have a complete staff to back up your efforts, or you are on your home computer trying to land a new gig, here are a couple of very important steps to get your proposal or bid done on time and on top of the list. Choose your design and content a week ahead of time (or as soon as possible), and stick with it. Don’t make changes as you go along. Finish the 1st draft first. Then, once you have a completed project within the deadline, you can make copy or content changes if you have time within a realistic and doable deadline without missing yours. Make sure you have the equipment and supplies you need to produce your proposal masterpiece. You may want to run a 1st draft on this before you go shopping. The content is more important than the package. You don’t want the fancy expensive presentation if you can do it with cheaper material
