How Do You Write A Public Service Announcement?
A Public Service Announcement is a brief script designed to be read over the air. If your small business is promoting an event that extends beyond retail, or burrito-stuffing, a PSA may bring you some free publicity. If you’re not using company letterhead, be sure to put your business name, address, phone, fax, e-mail and website addresses at the top of the page in bold print. Also in bold, all caps, and a slightly larger font, write “PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT” and “FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE” on two separate lines, and center them in the middle of the page. Give the PSA a simple headline (“BURRITO WORLD SPONSORS FOOD DRIVE”)and compose your announcement. Write it in all caps and double or triple-space it, leaving generous margins so a radio announcer can make notes and read it clearly. Spell out numbers (“NINETEEN BURRITOS”), and when you’re done, put a note at the bottom naming your media contact and providing a phone number so they can be called for more information. You’re almost done
