However, it is important to know how to write a letter of hardship because financial problems affect everyone. Start by writing your name, address, phone number and mortgage company, at the top left of your letter, in that order. Hit the enter button twice after writing the appropriate field. State that you wish them to review your financial situation to determine if you are eligible for a work-out option. Explain the problems you and your family are having.
