How Do You Write A College Admissions/Scholarship Application Essay?
If you’re applying to a college, or for a scholarship, you already know that you’re up against a lot of competition. However, don’t give up. If you follow these easy steps, you’ll have an essay that shines and says, “I’m the one for your school,” or “I will put your scholarship to the best use.” First, some necessary formatting/general guidelines to follow: Your heading should be centered at the top of the page. There is no need to bold it, italicize it, underline it, or enlarge it. Your heading should be the same size as your text (12 point font), and in the same font as the rest of your essay. Each paragraph should be indented, and the entire paper needs to be consistently double-spaced. This means, there should be no additional spaces between headings, sub-headings, bullet points, or paragraphs. Your paper should be typed using Times New Roman or Palatino Linotype, 12-point font.
