How do you write a 2-week notice when quitting a job?
Making a couple assumptions: You’re leaving because you have a better job, you are leaving on good terms. Just make it simple and to the point. A sample: Dear So-and-so: Please accept this letter as my notice of resignation to be effective on WEEKDAY MONTH DAY, YEAR. I appreciate the opportunities I have enjoyed while working here and look forward to my new opportunity. Thank you for your support throughout my tenure here. I wish you the best. Sincerely, blah blah blah General Rules: Keep it simple. You don’t owe your current employer any more than you’re giving: 2-week notice. Get to the point: Make sure your clear on why you’re writing: THIS IS MY RESIGNATION!!!! Don’t get too sappy with emotional stuff. This is a business letter and NOT personal.
