How Do You Wrap A Thumb Injury With An Ace Bandage?
Thumb injuries can be quite frustrating. A majority of the activities we do with our hands require the use of the thumb, so immobilizing it can make the injury even more frustrating in the end. Once the thumb is injured, however, immobilizing it can be the only way that you can help the healing process. Wrapping the injury with an Ace bandage provides that extra needed support to facilitate healing and treat the injury in the short term. Place your palm upwards. Start by putting the Ace bandage in the center of the wrist and wrap the bandage around the back of the hand and upwards, towards the web of the thumb. Wrap the bandage around the palm of the hand and back around the back of the wrist. Use a clip to hold the anchor bandage in place. Continue wrapping around the back of the wrist and up around the back of the hand. Go around the base of the thumb and secure the wrapping at the palm of the hand.
