How Do You Wrap A Gift With Homemade Supplies?
Beautifully wrapped gifts are appreciated by everyone, but making your own giftwrap and using herbs or weeds to decorate them produces unique giftwrap. My favorite herb to use is yarrow, as it holds its shape after dry and can be a lovely shade of golden brown. Cut brown wrapping paper to fit package. Place acrylic paint styrofoam or paper plate. Add matte medium to thin paint mixture. Use color of your choice, although a rust color looks good with the brown paper, raffia and dried plant flowers. Using rubber stamp of your choice (or using one you have made from a square or rectangular eraser), dip into paint and then stamp the brown paper. After paint is dry, wrap your gift in the stamped paper. Secure with scotch tape. Take several different widths of raffia and wrap the package with it. Tie one knot at top. Lay the yarrow or dried weed flower on top of knot, arranging to look pretty. Tie a bow to hold the herb/weed tightly. Leave longer pieces of raffia uncut for a natural look.
