How do you work with the careproviders and facilitate communication?
As a doula, it is important to remember that there is a line between the medical support and the emotional/physical comfort support. I establish a rapport and visit the hospital before a labor to familiarize myself with the L&D floor. My goal is to encourage good communication between the medical staff and the parents by educating the parents on what questions to ask.
