How Do You Work GE Ice Makers?
General Electric Co. makes in-freezer models of ice makers, and some are accessible from a door beverage-dispensing system. The standard ice makers produce up to 130 cubes of ice a day. GE also makes ice makers with fans that double that output by blowing cold air over the ice maker. Room temperature and freezer temperature can be a factor in output. Ensure that the GE freezer has been connected to the water supply. Take a look at the back of the freezer and make sure that a hose or line connects to the wall. Make sure any valve at the wall is open. The valve lever should be in line with the hose, not at right angles. Turn the power switch on the ice maker to the “On” position. The power switch is on the right of the big white panel at the side. Below it there is a green power indicator light. Listen for a buzzing sound. That’s the ice maker filling with water.
