How Do You Work Cryptoquote Word Puzzles?
If you like to work word puzzles like crosswords or Scrabble, you will probably like Cryptoquote puzzles. Cryptoquote puzzles appear in local newspapers all over the USA. Our local newspaper has the puzzle between the Crossword and Sudoku. This puzzle does not take much room in the local newspaper, and maybe you have missed it. You are missing lots of fun if you like word puzzles. The point of the Cryptoquote is to substitute one letter for another, and make an actual quotation with the name of the author following. Look at the overall puzzle. Take a look at the Cryptoquote puzzle you want to work. First, check for an apostrophe or similar punctuation. If an apostrophe appears before the last letter of a word, it is most likely that last letter will be a T or an S. Look for single letters. Check for any single letters in the Cryptoquote. Single letters will either be an I or an A. Check for two-letter words. Look at two-letter words. Two-letter words that are common are IT, IS, AN, TO,
