How Do You Word A Birthday Invitation?
Use the right wording in your birthday invitations to let your guests know what they are invited to, for whom, when, where and most importantly what to expect. Younger children’s parties may involve activities in which guests would want to dress their children in casual or active clothes. Adults may dress business-casual for most birthday parties only to find the one you’re hosting is a pool party, or worse, a formal black tie dinner event. Also, choose wording that reflects the birthday celebrant’s personality. Choose the theme, formality and mood of the party before you think about the invitation wording. Once you know what kind of party it’ll be and what activities will take place, use that information along with the location of the party to determine your wording. Write an introduction on the front cover or top of a single-sided invitation. Something such as “You’re invited to a surprise party” on the front will let guests know what they’re receiving and also that it’s a surprise.
