How Do You Wire Sensors On A Craftsman Garage Door Opener?
Sensors on the Craftsman garage door opener provide safety and are required for the proper operation of the opener. If the old wiring has become corroded or damaged, you can replace it with new wires rather than purchasing another sensor kit. The sensors cannot be opened, so you will be cutting and splicing wire. If the damage is in the sensor, the sensors will have to be replaced. Disconnect the power to the garage door opener by either unplugging it from the ceiling electrical outlet or by turning it off at the circuit breaker. Remove the plastic lens door on the right side of the Craftsman garage door opener by inserting a small flat-head screwdriver between the motor head and the cap. Carefully unsnap the lens cap and move it out of the way. Disconnect the sensor wires from the quick connect terminals by pushing in on each terminal and pulling the wire out.
