How Do You Wire Outside Wall Lights?
Extra light around your home can provide additional security, and attractive fixtures can boost the look and value of your property. With a little planning and some basic wiring skills, you can add outside wall lights in a few hours. Locate where you want the outside wall light to be, such as by a door, and find the closest electrical wall outlet. This will be where youl tap into the electricity for the light. Cut a hole in the outside wall of your house with a drill and saw. Make the hole small enough so that the base of your light fixture covers it when you’re done. Now make a hole in the interior wall of your house, above the electrical outlet you’ll be tapping into. Install a gang box into the interior wall, holding it to the wall’s stud with the nails. Fish your electrical cable down the interior of the wall, starting from the hole you made on the outside. When the wire reaches the gang box, pull several inches out, and strip away a half-inch of insulation from the white and black
