How Do You Wire A VW Alternator?
The ever-increasing number of electrical components in cars means that car generators (or dynamos) were replaced with alternators many years ago because their electrical output is greater. An alternator is a simple device consisting of a central rotating spindle with multiple wire windings and a further fixed set of wire windings surrounding the rotor. Two brushes touch the rotor and electricity, produced by the spinning rotor, is transferred to your car electrical devices and battery. Wiring a VW alternator is moderately easy, although car manufacturers can position them in difficult to access places. Disconnect both the positive and negative cables from your car battery using a wrench before wiring your VW alternator. The battery cables will be colored red (positive) and black (negative). Move the cables away from the battery terminals. Locate the two terminals on your VW alternator. They will be clearly labeled to indicate which is positive and negative. Use a screwdriver or wrench
