Toggle switches can be found in almost any electrical application you can name. From lighting circuits to radios, toggles are the devices used to select between two different circuit paths. Switchcraft toggle switches are electro-mechanical devices that physically reroute the electrical signal of a circuit. Installing a switch requires basic knowledge of an electrical circuit and a few tools. Locate the terminals on your Switchcraft toggle. These instructions will be for a two-way–or Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT)–switch. There will be three terminals on a SPDT switch: a middle, common terminal “C” and a pair of outside terminals “A” and “B.” The outside terminals represent the two positions of the switch, while the middle terminal represents the input signal.
