How Do You Wire A Stereo For A 1966 Mustang Coupe?

However, one component that was lacking, especially in the older Mustang models, was a high-quality stereo system. Wiring a new stereo into a 1966 Mustang Coupe is not difficult, and can provide the added style boost your car needs to make it truly unique. Use the screwdrivers to loosen and remove the mounting hardware around the old stereo and slide it out of the console of the car. Unhook the wiring harness on the back of the stereo as you do so. Use the pliers to cut the old wiring harness off the back of the old stereo, then use the wiring guide included in the mounting kit to connect the wires from the new stereo to the wiring harness wires.
