How Do You Wire A Gerbera Daisy?
Gerbera daisies are large flowers that come in a variety of bright, cheerful colors, most often shades of red, yellow, orange and pink. Although gerbera daisies have sturdier stems than some flowers, you may want to add wire to the stems, or replace the stems with wire, to make the stems even sturdier, or to give you precise control for a gerbera daisy arrangement. To wire the stems, you’ll need floral wire and tape, which are available in many craft stores as well as online. Green floral tape is somewhat stretchy and sticky on both sides, so it’s great for wrapping flower stems and hiding the wire. Cut a piece of floral wire the length you want. If the gerbera daisy stems are short, you can lengthen them by adding extra wire. Place the end of the wire near the base of the flower (calyx). Wrap the wire to the stem using floral tape.
