A ceiling fan can come with or without a light. Wiring a ceiling fan light can be a simple process if you have the right tools and moderate knowledge of electricity. Doing this project yourself can save you some money. If you do not know what you are doing when it comes to working with electricity, however, hire an electrician to do the work for you because working with electricity can be dangerous. Use the drill and the 1-inch wood bit to drill a hole by the breaker box where you plan to install the light switch (for new construction). Use a tape measure to measure from the breaker box to the light switch. Measure the 110 wire and cut it with the wire cutters, leaving extra wire at both ends for easy connecting. Take the measured wire, and run it from the hole at the breaker box to the hole for the light switch. Put the switch box in where you are installing the new light switch.
