How Do You Wire A Capacitor To A Car Stereo?
If you have a car stereo system with an external amplifier, you can improve the performance of the system by adding a capacitor. A capacitor stores electrical energy for quick release, so when the volume in your music increases and the amplifier needs more power, the capacitor can deliver a quick burst of electrical energy. Make a cut in the power cable leading to your car stereo amplifier, about 1 to 2 feet from the amplifier. Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from each end of the wire. Crimp ring terminals onto each of the wire ends–slide the ring terminals onto the bare wire, and crimp the terminals in place with a crimping tool. Loosen and remove the nuts on the two positive terminals of the capacitor with an adjustable wrench, and slide one of each of the wire ends onto the posts. Replace the nuts and tighten them with the wrench. Cut a length of ground cable long enough to reach from the capacitor to the amp’s grounding bolt. Prepare the ends of the cable by removing 1/2 inch of insu
