How Do You Wire A Baseboard Heater To A Thermostat?
Baseboard heaters provide heat through electricity. To control the temperature, connect a thermostat to the baseboard heater. This thermostat turns the heater on and off to maintain your set temperature. Thermostats that control baseboard heaters are line voltage, meaning they are powered by regular household current (120 volts). They are fairly easy to install, requiring a few simple hand tools. Turn off the power to the baseboard heater circuit. Find the correct circuit breaker and turn it off. Remove the thermostat cover to gain access to the thermostat wiring. Connect the red wire from the thermostat to the black wire from the baseboard heater. Connect the black wire from the thermostat to the white or red wire from the electric heater.
