How Do You Winterize A 2 Stroke Outboard Motor?
This is the proper method of “Winterizing” a 2 Stroke Outboard Motor. The term “Winterizing” is used when an Outboard Motor is put into storage for the season or is not in use for a number of months. Proper “Winterization” will prevent rust and corrosion in cylinders, build up of “Gum” and “Varnish” in carburetors and will insure minimum preparation when motor is taken out of storage for use. The following steps will insure years of added “Life” to your Outboard Motor. Your boats batteries should be removed, charged and stored in a cool well ventilated area. 1. Before starting winterization process you should fill your boat’s gas tank with fuel and use Star Tron to treat your boats fuel system. There is a lot of E-10 our gas and we need to use products like Star Tron to stop the damaging effect that E-10 causes. I have found that Star Tron works very well.
