How Do You Wind A Tatting Shuttle?
Shuttles for tatting come with either a post in the center or a removable bobbin. Here’s how to get thread onto the shuttle. Insert the thread through the holes in the post of the tatting shuttle. Tie the thread in a square knot around the post or just hold the end of the thread in place while winding. Stop before the thread reaches the blades of the shuttle. Remove the bobbin from the shuttle. Tie your thread around the bobbin with a square knot or hold the end of the thread while winding it around the bobbin. Avoid overwinding the bobbin. No thread should extend past the sides of the bobbin. Replace the bobbin inside the shuttle.
