Read the contest rules thoroughly and make sure you have a clear understanding of them. Not following the rules precisely could get your photo tossed out of the contest. Determine in which category to enter your photo. Some contests have themes, such as faith, inspiration, nature, children and weddings, for example. If possible, try to decide which ones will be the most popular and enter the ones you think will have fewer entries to improve your odds of winning. Examine the photos of previous winners.
