How Do You Whip Up A Rhubarb Pie?
Are you tired of seeing the same old pies being made at pie sales, church functions, family holidays, or at other dinner gatherings, or picnics? Wouldn’t it be nice to see something different presented for desert? Why not make a one 8 inch rhubarb pie and surprise your family and friends. Sift together 3 tablespoons of flour and 1 cup of sugar. Add one egg and 2 cups of rhubarb cut into small pieces. You can use fresh rhubarb or frozen rhubarb found in the freezer section of your grocery store. Line your pie pan with plain pastry. Pour in your pie filling. Cover your pie filling with lattice pastry strips. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. When the oven reaches 425 degrees put your pie in the oven for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and cook the pie an additional 35 minutes. When the pie is cooked take it out of the oven to cool slightly. Cover the pie with whipped cream.
