How Do You Weld Stainless Steel Tubing?
Welding stainless steel tubing can be a difficult task, but you can do it at home with the proper equipment and procedures. If you set up your equipment correctly and use a couple of simple techniques, your weld will look like it was done professionally. Weld Stainless Steel Tubing Step 1 Attach the grounding cable to the end of the stainless steel tubing. Step 2 Set up the TIG Welder and ARGON Gas per the instruction manual per the thickness (gauge) of the stainless steel to be welded. Step 3 Tack weld the tubing on opposite sides. Step 4 Weld the stainless steel tubing by starting at one of the tack welds. Step 5 Rotate the tubing away from the welding tip as you weld. Step 6 Inspect the weld for pin sized holes and re-weld as necessary for the application of the tubing. Step 7 Clean the weld if needed with wire brush or wire wheel.
