How Do You Weave A Design Into T-Shirt?
Tired of your old wardrobe? You can jazz up old pieces of your wardrobe and make them into more modern pieces by weaving fabric to create a design into your T-shirt. Weaving a design into a T-shirt allows you to be creative with what you wear while reusing pieces of other clothing, making it a good green alternative to fabric paints. You can also do it without any sewing experience–just some scissors and a little time. Cut one old T-shirt into 1-to-2-inch-wide strips by starting from the bottom and working your way around the shirt. Trace your design onto the T-shirt using the pencil on the second T-shirt. Make sure to take note of where you can cut slits into your design. These slits will be where you can weave the strips into the design. Place the piece of cardboard inside the T-shirt to separate the layers. Use the X-acto knife or scissors to cut 1-inch-wide slits about 2 inches apart from one another.
