How Do You Waterproof A Concrete Basement Crack?
When concrete basements crack they can let water into the interior. Injecting an expanding polyurethane foam into the crack will stop water from leaking through a basement crack. This repair can be done by both professionals and homeowners. Clean the surface of the basement wall with a wire brush to remove any loose dirt and debris. Any paint over the crack must be removed. Mix 1/2 cup total of the two part surface sealer. Place a bead of surface seal to the bottom of the injection port Place a bead of surface seal to the bottom of an injection port. Place the port onto the basement wall over the crack. Start at the bottom of the crack making sure the crack is not covered by the surface sealer. Attach additional ports spaced every 6"-12".
