How Do You Watch .Avi Files on DVD Players?
Many people download video files on the Internet to watch them on their computers. One of the most popular video formats is AVI. AVIs are similar to DVD video files because they support multiple streaming files, but they tend to be larger than other video formats and many times need special players to read and show the videos. Because of this, they aren’t always compatible with DVD players unless properly burned onto a CD or DVD. The easiest way to make them compatible for playing on a DVD player is to burn a video CD, also known as a VCD. Open your video burning software. There are many programs that can burn videos. Two of the more popular programs are Nero and Roxio Creator, but there are also free programs like StarBurn and Final Burn Free (see Resources). Select “Make a VCD.” This will lead you to the main screen for burning. Select “Add File,” find the AVI files you want to burn, and select “Open” or “OK,” whichever is available.
