Nike has been a popular and trusted brand in tennis shoes since the early 1970s. Of course, tennis shoes get dirty and need to be cleaned. Washing Nike tennis shoes occasionally is necessary to preserve their appearance and prolong their life span. There is no need to go out and buy a new pair just because yours are dirty. Remove as much loose dirt, mud and debris as possible. With a dry scrub brush, brush the sides, tops and bottoms of the shoes. Remove the laces from the shoes. If your Nike tennis shoes have sole inserts, pull them out. Place a few drops of non-ammonia dish soap in a bucket, and fill the bucket with warm water. Dip a scrub brush into the bucket of soapy water. Scrub the shoes with the scrub brush. Rinse out the brush often to avoid reapplying the dirt. Wipe off the soap residue with a wet rag.
