Chenille throws are cozy blankets to place on the bed or couch for a chilly evening. Most noted for the soft texture of the fabric, these throws can be quite frustrating when it comes to cleaning. The most notorious traits for washing a chenille throw is the drying application. The fabric can be removed by heavy agitation, creating fluff on any other items placed in the laundry cycle. Inexpensive throws may also unravel in a regular washing machine. Higher quality chenille throws can be machine washed, while lesser expensive throws may have to be cleaned by hand. Place the throw into the washing machine. Evenly distribute the item around the agitation drum. When the chenille gets wet it will become extremely heavy. Wash only the throw and no other items.
