How Do You Volunteer And Help Disabled Persons?
Interested in volunteering with disabled people? Here in Charlotte, NC we have an organization called Hands on Charlotte. I volunteer and help disabled persons to bowl. You can volunteer in your city and state helping people also. All it really takes is time, energy and lots of love. Here are seven easy steps for volunteering with disabled people: Contact a volunteer group or organization in your neighborhood. Search online by typing in “volunteer opportunities with disabled people.” Complete a volunteer application and submit to a background investigation. Ask questions about the background investigation process before submitting your name. Make sure you are comfortable working with persons with disabilities. Once you are approved to volunteer try several different projects until you find something that is right for you. For example, I helped to fold clothes that were donated, pick up horse manure at a therapedic horse farm and I have volunteered with disabled people who bowl. Sign up
