How Do You Void A Written Check?
There are a number of normal reasons for why you may wish to void a check. Perhaps you noticed an error that you made when filling it out, or maybe you decided to pay by cash instead. Maybe you need a blank check for setting up a new direct deposit account. No matter what reason you have for wanting to void your check, the process of voiding the check is simple and takes less than a minute to do. Write the word “VOID” in the small box where the numeric value of the check is normally written. If you had already written numbers in this box, cross them out and then write “VOID.” Write the word “VOID” on the signature line of the check. If you had already signed the check, cross out your signature and write “VOID” next to it. Write the word “VOID” in large letters across the center of the check. The darker and bolder the lettering, the better it is. Although writing “VOID” once is acceptable, and three times fulfills any legal requirements, some people opt to also flip the check over to wr
