How Do You Visit Volcanoes National Park?
Hot, red lava flows through Volcanoes National Park, creating a sight you won’t want to miss. Diverse environments, from the ocean to the summit of the volcano, make up the park, offering you plenty to see and do. While you’re there, learn about the history and culture surrounding the park. Drive the Crater Rim Drive to the summit of Kilauea volcano. This 11-mile road goes through diverse environments, such as a tropical rain forest, the desert and the caldera floor. There are scenic stops along the way as well. Visit the Kilauea Visitor Center near the entrance to the park to learn more about the volcano. The center hosts a short film about the volcano and exhibits will help you appreciate the various environments around the park. Hike on the trails that cover over 150 miles within the park.
