The Winchester Mystery House is a gorgeous Victorian mansion in San Jose, California. It was built at the turn of the century by Sarah Winchester, heiress to the Winchester rifle fortune, who was convinced by a Boston psychic that the only way to appease the spirits of those killed by the Winchester rifle was to start construction on a house that would never be finished. The construction ended immediately upon Sarah’s death in 1922, and today it is a historic landmark with many beautiful examples of Victorian architecture.
