How Do You Visit The Archaeological Park Monte Alban?
In the state of Oaxaca, located along the southeast edges of Mexico, is a city that has been excavated out of the jungle. This city is called Monte Ablan and it is just one of many thousands of archaeological sites that have been discovered in the state of Oaxaca. This site however was built atop a mountain so that the people could oversee their lands. This is a site you should not miss when traveling near Oaxaca. Catch a bus in Oaxaca to the grand city of Monte Alban. Now a well known archaeological park, buses and tours run often and from several different areas. If you would like to hear information about each area of this park, a guided tour may be better suited for you and your group. Start your exploration in the center of the city, La Gran Plaza. It is about 60,000 square yards in size, leading one to think that for so early in history, this was no small town. Be sure to look around at the city from all angles and take in the sites.
