Seattle is filled with beautiful gardens — many of which have been influenced by Japanese tradition. For example, Washington Park Arboretum contains a lovely Japanese Garden; whereas Kubota Garden blends Japanese style with Northwestern plantings; and the Bloedel Reserve located on Bainbridge Island fuses Japanese and Western themes. Start at the Washington Park Arboretum with its wide-ranging collections from larches to legumes, maples to magnolias. Stop in at the newest addition — the Pacific Connections Project that features plants from the Pacific Rim.
