A favorite area park is the Capacon State Park found about 10 miles south of the resort town of Berkeley Springs. The Capacon State Park lies along the eastern slopes of the Capacon Mountains with 6,000 acres of woods, trails and terrain. The Park offers a variety of recreational opportunities year-round in addition to dining and overnight accommodations for the weary traveler or special occasions. Bring along a fishing pole and cast for trout, bass, catfish and bluegill in the Capacon State Park Lake or the reservoir. Make sure you have a valid fishing license with the proper trout stamp for anyone 15 years old and older or buy a short-term license from the Capacon Lodge.
