Venting an indoor clothes dryer is a must. A unvented dryer is hazardous. If you are installing the dryer in your basement, you will need to make the hole by drilling through the floor. The foundation should have a wooden sill plate which you will drill through. If you are installing the dryer on the main or second floor of your home, you will want to install the vent in a location that you can cut through the wall to the outside of your home.
