Put in the gameshark disc. Go to the game and select the mastercode and the codes you want to use. Go back out to the main menu on the Gameshark disc. (Simply navigate back, should be the triangle button.) Select start game. A screen should come up telling you to insert the game disc. Now, without turning off the system, either pop the lid open or press open for the tray, depending on which PS2 you have, and take out the Gameshark disc and then put in the game disc. The game should load up normally and the codes you selected should be working.
