How Do You Use Worm Compost Tea?
Making compost is an easy way to add the needed nutrients into your soil. Compost worm tea is also useful in replenishing nutrients and helping the plant foliage fight off predators. The concept is similar to making regular tea only this is a beverage for your plants. Collect the worm compost from the worm or compost bin. Collect 2 cups for every 5 gallons of water you plan to use. Next, place the worm compost inside the pantyhose and tie the ends securely. This will serve as the worm compost tea bag. Fill the 5-gallon container. You can use tap water but let it sit out overnight to allow the chlorine in the water to evaporate. Chlorine can kill the bacteria in the compost, rendering it useless. Immerse the ends of the air pump in the water. Next, place the compost-filled pantyhose in the water. Add 1 tsp. of molasses to the water for every 5 gallons of compost tea you plan to make.
