How Do You Use Vinegar To Clean A Washing Machine?
Sometimes no matter what you try, you can’t get rid of that musty smell coming from your washing machine. Before you make a trip to the appliance store, try Grandma’s trick: vinegar. White vinegar tops the list for removing stubborn odors, and will give your washer a new outlook on the meaning of the word clean. Soak a sponge in white vinegar and apply it liberally to the top inner rim of the washer where the tub meets the rim. Rub briskly and add more vinegar as needed to completely soak the surface. Fill the washer with hot water and add what remains in the gallon of vinegar. Turn the controls to the “Heavy” setting and allow the machine to run its full cycle. Open the lid and allow the tub to air-dry for a minimum of 3 hours.
