How do you use the clips that keep a metal receptacle box from wiggling?
You will need to unscrew the outlet and pull it out of the box (turn off the power first). Then push the box back tightly into the wall. The clips have two tabs coming out of the side of them. They also have a long end and a short end.The long end should be inserted next to the box on the outside of the box up into the wall behind the plasterboard with the two tabs facing out towards you. After pushing the long end up as far as you can (keep a grip on the tabs) push the shorter end into the wall and lower it down below the plasterboard at the bottom of the box. Now fold the tabs tightly around the edge of the box and into it. Squeeze the tabs with a pair of pliers around the edge of the box. Then do exactly the same thing on the other side of the box. Hope this is clear because they do work. Essentially the clips go on the left and right of the box on the outside of it with the long ends behind the plaster and the tabs sticking out at you and then wrapped around the edge into the box t
