Silicone is the next generation in bakeware. It is easy to use and works better than non-stick bakeware. Silicone baking molds can withstand temperatures up to 500 F. Wash the silicone molds before using them if they are new. Although the mold are dishwasher-safe, it is advisable to hand wash them in hot soapy water. Avoid using scouring pads or harsh cleaners to clean them. Grease the mold using vegetable oil or a non-stick cooking spray. Spray or spread the oil evenly, making sure to reach the corners and edges. Place a metal cookie sheet below your silicone baking mold to hold it properly. Silicone molds are highly flexible and pliable.
