How Do You Use Shelving Contact Paper For Stencils For Etching?
Shelving contact paper has an adhesive on the back of the paper that is strong yet maneuverable. This feature has made vinyl contact paper popular in craft projects where a resist is being used, such as a stencil. If the stencil can be cut out of contact paper, then it can be attached and removed from the project without having to apply additional glues. This has made contact paper popular for stencil etching projects. Position your stencil design over your vinyl contact shelving paper with right sides up. Tape your stencil down using painters tape. Place your paper over a cutting pad. Cut through the paper design and the contact shelving paper with a hobby knife that is sharp. Allow the knife to do the work. Cut all the way through to the cutting pad. Remove the discard or insides of the stencils. This will leave you with contact shelving paper with the back still on. Once your glass project is prepared (very clean) you simply remove the paper backing sheet and attach the contact pape
