How Do You Use Sealing Wax Beads?
Used during the Middle Ages to secure envelopes and create airtight container seals, sealing wax is now used for ceremonial and decorative purposes. If you’d like to add a special touch to correspondence and invitations, a few basic supplies, a little patience and creativity are all you need. Light a candle and place it in a sturdy holder. Place several wax beads into your melting spoon, and hold the spoon about an inch above the candle flame. Do not lower the spoon into the flame, because the wax will heat too quickly and develop a sooty residue. Pour the melted wax onto the location where you plan to create the seal, making sure the wax pool is large enough to accommodate the seal size you’ve selected. Allow the wax to firm up for 15 to 20 seconds, and press the seal or embossing coin onto the warm wax.
