Instead of waiting for plantar warts to disappear on their own, you can use salicylic acid to treat them. There are a variety of over-the-counter medications available. As long as the product you choose contains 40 percent or more of salicylic acid, the growth should disappear. You should expect the entire elimination process to last from 1 to 2 months. Visit your local grocery or drug store for either an acid solution or a medicated patch to treat your plantar wart. Popular brands are Curad Mediplast and Dr. Scholl’s Clear Away Plantar (see Resources below). Apply a medicated patch or place a few drops of acid onto the wart with disposable gloves, then cover with a bandage.
