How Do You Use Revolvers For Target Shooting?
Target shooting is competitive and hones your shooting skills. Using a revolver for target shooting involves the same basic methods of aiming and firing, however, loading it is slightly different than loading a semi-automatic pistol or rifle. Practice good gun safety. Never point a revolver at anyone and treat it as if it is loaded at all times. Transport your revolver in an approved holster until you’re ready to shoot. When carrying the revolver in your hand, keep the barrel pointing towards the ground. Slide the cylinder to the side and load the gun by rotating it and putting one bullet into each hole. Insert each bullet fully or the cylinder will not close properly. Click the cylinder back into place. At this point, there is a bullet in the chamber, ready for firing, since the cylinder hole is a part of the chamber. Handle the gun with care.
